The 2010 “Carly’s Cuvee” Chardonnay comes from a selection of vineyards in the Oakville area of Napa Valley, from the steep hillside Watson Vineyard in American Canyon, and from the Hill Family Vineyard in Russian River. Made in a nonmalolactic style, with only light oak influence, this lovely multi-layered Chardonnay will please people looking for a wine that enhances food, and holds its own out on the patio. After three years of drought conditions, winter rainfall returned to normal levels in 2010. Bud-break was normal with a touch of warm weather in March, but cool, wet weather in the spring delayed bloom for two-to-three weeks. Summer continued with cool temperatures, further extending the growing season and allowing the grapes to slowly ripen and develop.
