This 2004 Merlot showcases the Hill Family’s “Beau Terre” Vineyard in the Oak Knoll
District of the Napa Valley. A cool site with deep stony soils, it is the area where
Doug Hill has developed his 30 years of experience growing Merlot. Using clone 181
on 101-14 with 5 x 8 spacing, the vines are on a quadrilateral cordon system with
extensive catch wires to expose fruit to the sun, and to shade it in the middle of the
day.

The Hill Family Estate wine library, is filled with wines dating back to our inaugural vintage in 2001. In celebration of Hill Family Estate's library collection, we’ve decided to open the vault. In early 2010 we began re-releasing some of our most prized vintages and vertical packs from the Napa Valley.
